Job Description:

Interstate Window & Door Company currently operates on a Monday to Friday schedule. Production Associates are scheduled Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Overtime is required as necessary and may include Saturdays. Supervisors will be expected to work the scheduled hours and generally work slightly longer hours to accommodate indirect production and company-related needs.
Essential Functions:

• Provides leadership, direction and oversight to the Production Team to ensure company objectives are attained regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Assigns work assignments to the Operators and Production Associates.
• Ensures plant safety procedures are followed in order to promote personal safety and the safety of others.
• Oversees and assists in set-ups and start-ups of production equipment on a daily basis.
• Practices strong engagement with direct reports and team members including accepting diversity of ideas and thoughts, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity and showing respect to all staff.
• Communicates daily issues and pertinent information downstream to Production Associates, across to other production areas and upstream to management.
• Provides training to Operators and Production Associates as needed.
• Troubleshoots machines for problems and makes proper adjustments.
• Ensures window and door components are processed in accordance with order specifications and company standards.
• Ensures machines are running efficiently and optimizing raw material to minimize waste.
• Ensures operators maintain and observe dimensional tolerances, warp, color appearance and all identified physical quality parameters.
• Monitors the quality of the products, performs hourly audits and follows process standards.
• Ensures machinery setup is correct, equipment is operating safely and efficiently and machine guarding is in place.
• Identifies maintenance requirements and works with maintenance to repair equipment as required.
• Completes all necessary production paperwork.
• Develops and ensures production schedule is followed and executed complete and on time.
• Ensures housekeeping duties are performed on the plant floor.
• Understands, supports and follows all company policies, practices and procedures.
• Works with Management team to develop process improvement opportunities.
• Performs other assignments as necessary or as directed.
  
  
  • 3+ years of Production experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience operating and directing others in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
