Integrate and coordinate the functions and services to an optical level of testing to meet necessary delivery of laboratory data to physicians and health care providers.* Under the supervision of the Lab Manager and the Director responsible for the operation of the Hematology and Special Hematology laboratories* Function in full technical capacity in various areas of Hematology as needed for completion of daily work and assist technical staff in overall quality control activities of the laboratory including all quality assurance issues.* Assists technologists and technicians with more difficult and complex laboratory tests and analysis of the test results and result interpretations*Minimum Qualifications*1. Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist issued by the NYSED.For Appointment to Levels IV and V1. In addition to meeting the qualification requirement of Assignment Level II, candidates must also meet one of the qualification requirements of a laboratory supervisor as outlined in Title 10, Section 58-1.4 of the New York Public Health Law.Special Notes:Qualifying experience is not limited to New York State.Candidates that are solely licensed or issued permits to practice as cytotechnologists or histotechnologists may only be assigned work, including supervising personnel performing laboratory work, in a laboratory discipline/specialty appropriate to their license or permit.
