  • Common diagnoses: Pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, vascular wounds, surgical wounds, ostomies.
  • Typical Job Duties: Review consults, divide workload with peers, patient assessments (head-to-toe), collaborate with interdisciplinary team (doctor, SW, RNs, etc.), placing wound care orders, patient education, and more.
    • Job Requirements
    • Must have 2 plus years experience inpatient clinical experience
    • Prefer wound care experience
    • Required Certifications: BLS, WOCN (Takes approx. 1 year to get) OR WCEI (Takes up to 1 week to get)
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts & Scheduling: Monday to Friday 8-4 or 9-5
      • Weekend Requirements: Weekends are optional
      • Holiday Requirements: Optional
        • Additional Details
        • # Patients: 20 consults per day + follow ups (for the whole team)
        • Ratios: Workload divvied out by unit
        • Equipment/Treatments: KCI wound vacs, wound care dressings, a lot of different dressing types and treatments
        • Manager/Supervisor: Manager & Director of Wound Care is Tamara
        • Floating Requirements: All of inpatient- MS, PCU, ICU & OR as needed
        • Scrub Color: Royal blue scrubs or casual dress
        • Unit Specific Orientation: 1 day nursing orientation with IT; as much as needed with a preceptor.
