motion. Timken Power Systems is seeking a Regional Controller for
the East Haven, CT, and New Castle, DE locations. This position is
responsible for accuracy and integrity of all financial information
concerning the plant(s) and reporting through corporate
accomplished through active management of policy, procedures,
internal controls, and enforcing the guidelines for true and
accurate financials. Performance by the facilities is measured
through financial performance and ability of the Regional
Controller to make key decisions along with the General Manager to
achieve budgeted goals. Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements for plants in accordance
with GAAP and company policies
- Ensure that costs are accurately and timely recorded to
production jobs and that such jobs are closed on a timely
basis.
- Ensure that all costs are captured in production jobs at the
time that jobs are shipped and billed to the customer to ensure
that profit margins are properly stated
- Perform annual physical inventory counts, and manage inventory
accuracy
- Proactively interact with Plant and Front-End Leadership to
ensure that all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the
plant's overall performance
- Lead and actively participate in LEAN, Kaizen, and other cost
reduction events
- Prepare monthly rolling forecasts and provide Plant leadership
with insight and commentary for all major variances from both plan
and prior year. Consolidate multiple locations for General Manager
reporting
- Lead preparation of plant annual operating plans/budgets,
incorporating productivity targets for both manufacturing and
sourcing; purchasing, benefits, wages and salaries, utilities,
etc.
- Collaborate with Operations to foster changes for process
improvement
- Assist plants in project planning and management for CAPEX,
including submission, approval and capitalization
- Lead SOX compliance including documenting all significant
processes including auditing, reconciliations and coding
guidelines, as well as protect all company assets Key Attributes:
- Full Scale Accounting knowledge in a manufacturing
environment
- Experience leading a small team
- Ability to work on site at the CT or DE plant on a regular
basis with ability to travel to the other the plant that is not
primary office
- Experience in a dual reporting environment as role reports to
General Manager with dotted line reporting to Group Controller
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with
little supervision
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Proficient understanding of manufacturing strategy and
practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to
communicate with all levels of the organization
- Adaptability and willingness to wear multiple hats Basic
Qualifications:
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ERP system required, Epicor preferred
- Experience using a consolidation/reporting system, preferably
One Stream
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with job cost
experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in management reporting and data
analysis. Leadership experience preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in general accounting (AP,
Journal Entries, Reconciliations) All qualified applicants shall be
